Rani Gupta, CPA brings her unique perspectives to understanding financial dependence as a hindrance to individuals leaving unhealthy relationships and/or living situations, recommendations and ways to increase financial literacy for clients bringing a greater sense of independence.
Participants will enjoy an overview of resources, such as government grants, private foundations, scholarships, and financial counseling organizations offering assistance. We will also examine financial warning signs, as well as gender and cultural based components that may influence a client’s relationship with money & finances.

 

Rani Gupta, CPA is a Forensic Accountant and New York State Certified Long-Term Care Ombudsman. With nearly 30 years as an agent with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) specializing in audits of large corporations, Ms. Gupta also served as an investigation specialist in Anti-Money Laundering in complex Money Services Businesses. Now retired from the IRS, Ms. Gupta currently works as a private consultant, specializing in the investigation of Elder Financial Abuse and Exploitation.
With an avid commitment to protecting the rights of vulnerable and underserved individuals, Ms. Gupta also puts her investigative skills to work as a Long Term Care Ombudsman, where she serves as eyes and ears, observing the treatment of residents in the Long Term Care system, giving voice to their concerns. She also volunteers her time through Lifespan driving elderly individuals to doctor appointments in her community, which she finds especially meaningful.
Ms. Gupta is thrilled to share her knowledge and insight with Social Work and Mental Health professions, and promises there will be no math tests!
